RESUMING FACE-TO-FACE SERVICES
2020-07-24

The past months have been very difficult for everyone, whether you have been a key worker supporting the country whilst your child continued attending school, whether you were working from home and trying to home school your children, whether you have been furloughed or lost your job, whether you or your family gave been ill, whether you have lost loved ones.

The pandemic and subsequent lockdown has had a huge effect on our health, including mental health. At Play to Thrive, our therapists work with children and their families to make sense of the events happening around them and learn how to manage huge emotions. We have seen an increase of visitors to our facebook page in recent weeks showing us how many people are searching for ways to help their family through this time, and through the next few weeks when schools in Shropshire will open for the new term, probably with many changes in place.

Many of our therapists are now resuming face-to-face services and have very clear systems in place to help keep you and your family as safe as possible whilst interacting with the therapies.

One option for some of us is to take the therapy outside, as explored in this article by Ali Chown – co-founder of COOPT (The Collaboration of Outdoor Play Therapists).

Please get in touch if you are looking for therapeutic support for a child or young person, your family or within your school, in Shropshire to see what we can offer you at this time. Please contact us via email us at playtothrive@hotmail.com or visit our Facebook page – Play to Thrive
